Alesana has a brilliant way of writing, as Shawn Milke commented, "Journey albums" as opposed to concept, and their wide scope of inspiration from Greek Mythology, The Brother's Grimm & Edgar Allen Poe gives them the opportunity to interpret each telling in their own unique, emotional and touching way. The concept behind The Emptiness was from Poe's tellings, and each song has been brilliantly crafted. It is perhaps lighter in tone (yet not in subject matter!) than the previous ones, perhaps as a result of better producing. The narratives are especially haunting and memorable, like mantras for those in their own dark turmoil like the protagonists' own. Instrumental and delivery is both energy-driven and lulling as always, and their musical flair shall bring thought and visual perception should you be able to imagine dimly-lit English sidestreet... Definitely a must-listen for all fans of previous albums; you shall not be disappointed!! MUCH ENJOYED & LOVED!! SEEING YOU IN APRIL HERE IN LONDON!! :D <3Alesana Where Myth Fades to Legend4.0 excellentAlesana On Frail Wings of Vanity and Wax
