Warning: Listening to this album may cause you to....um....refer to Billie Joe's post-"Hitchin' a Ride" antics from BIAB and you'll see what I mean.
I think you pretty much can judge this album by its cover:
1. The name of the band is a weed reference.
2. The name of the album is an, ahem........excrement reference.
3. Among the images on the album cover are: a monkey holding a pile of dookie thinking "Throw?", a caveman, Elvis (?), a scarecrow with a pumpkin head, and a dog pouring dookie onto the poor unsuspecting bystanders below.
Charming.
Yes, this album reeks of immaturity. At least it's immaturity accompanied by good music. This is pretty much the best pop-punk record known to man. The lyrics are clever and funny, the guitar riffs are infectious, the drums are fierce, and the bass is actually noticeable (gasp!) and contributes to such songs as "Chump", "Welcome to Paradise", and "Longview". Sure, the songs are simple, but they're fun - that's what pop-punk is all about. "Dookie" is definitely a highlight of the 90s that is sure to please.
