Damn do these guys achieve what they're trying to do. Guitars are tuned way, way down with a heavy, heavy bass tone. Additionally, there are samples of real sad things on here; anything ranging from news reports (or films) of family men who chose to end their lives; thus, describing their sorrow and agony with disturbingly haunting brutal music being present or about to come. This combination is very effective here. The vocals coincide with the heaviness of the music while switching from high pitched shreiks of agony to more guttural death growls. This also borders on death metal with some rapid alternating picking on the guitars and straight up blastbeats. This isn't for the light hearted. Very cool disturbing stuff. Kinda like a faster Eyehategod, except for the slow parts which really bring EHG to mind. If this is your cup of tea, then this album does the job!Misery Loves Co. Not Like ThemMisery Loves Co.
