Godspeed You! Black Emperor Yanqui U.X.O.
by far the superior godspeed album, they truly perfected therir musicianship here, and getting rid of gimmicky samples was a massive benefit for their sound
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
Justice †
the first album of any dance style to make me aware of it from any other aspect then background music at a club. From the Grecian horns that introduce the album to the audience with an epicness unmatched, i knew this would be a favorite.
King Crimson Red
the first four songs build up so much tension and unload in a big way. the powerful sound that this trio had was something a certain 9 piece band couldn't achieve with 3 times the members. then the final track, a beautiful ballad(Until the amazing instrumental break which is some of the most inspired writing you'll ever hear.
Massive Attack Mezzanine
truly one of the best sounding albums ive ever heard, every sound occupies a space in your head. and the songs aren't half bad too. every track is a winner
Oceansize Frames
If a band can play 3 notes for 10 minutes and keep it enthralling the whole way, they are skilled songwriters. If that same band can then produce the must eclectic and eccentric music you will hear outside of Musique Concrete, they have the imagination of a platonic philosopher. If they can blend these attributes into a seamless flowing album, they are truly masters of their field.

Steven Wilson Insurgentes
Simply Put, this is the greatest album i have ever heard, the sonic pallet, atmosphere and craftsmanship associated with this album are second to none. Every song is so unique and planned out, that it would be near impossible to find sounds this rich anywhere else. This Cd ticks off all the right marks and i feel its a shame there is nothing to give beyond a 5.

Abbe May Howl & Moan
this album is like everything Ive heard before, yet nothing Ive heard at the same time. rBig Ballsy Blues rock tunes with beautiful folk songs mixed in. Lush vocals, lots of passion. And a progression into darker territories as the record progresses. Great stuff

NOSTALGIA RUSH. in all seriousness, musicianship a cut above the rest from all members of the band, a very neat concept, and some stellar riffs and technicality make this their magnum opus, too bad they had to go gobble monstrous amounts of dick after this release.
