I love every aspect of this band, Guitars are epic, drums are never repetitive and the vocals compliment the music perfectly. Not sure why people aren't digging the vocals, personally i would kill to be able to hit some of the high screams the vocalist does! Amazing stuff! This band honestly got me into the Metal scene way back when and i haven't left yet, Thanks At Dawn! I have played through the album probably 7 times already and it really just doesn't satisfy. 15 songs sounded mind-blowing and yet the majority of them are just filler, uninspired, chugfests with keyboard sections coming in and out. Either that or its some shitty attempt at making dubstep. Also, where the hell are the epic leads?!? Sure there are a shit load of solos but they are purely wankage and lack any sort of emotion at all (minus the solo in recreate). The album is not terrible at all and was quite enjoyable at times but i feel boo really went for quantity over quality on this record which is its biggest downfall. My favorite tracks: Recreate, Dissimulation, Follow the Signs and Two Worlds of Design. Circle of Contempt Entwine the ThreadsCounterparts The Current Will Carry UsElitist EarthElitist Reshape ReasonOverall, pretty disappointed in the album as a whole. Not only has Elitist not been able to find a decent vocalist that even remotely pulls off the power and emotion of Jacob Katz's voice but they haven't been able to keep up musically since 'Caves'. The song writing is completely over saturated with ambient yet uninspiring leads that block out alot of the generally more interesting riffing. It just feels like there is a lack of variety in the album as a whole. When i heard Unto the Sun and then Reshape Reason i literally thought my computer bugged out because i thought it was replaying Unto the Sun again, unfortunately my computer didn't crap out and in fact Reshape Reason has a strikingly similar introduction. Either Elitist is still naive to what made Caves so great and are struggling to re create a record of that caliber again or they are truly set out on their own path to do whatever they see fit(which i can respect but am not digging the new style). Elitist was probably going to be my favorite band but now with 2 disappointing releases, ('Earth' being the first disappointment) i'm not sure i can say that anymore ): Job For A Cowboy GenesisT.R.A.M. The new music they have been writing sounds amazing though!Reflections The Fantasy EffectTerrible production, annoying vocals, guitar wankery everywhere and just bad song writing in general.
