Jason Newsted and Robert Trujillo aren't self confident enough to make sound when they use the bass. I really don't get how they got the name master of puppets. My least favorite song (i actually don't even like this song) is the thing that should not be. The title speaks for itself, it is a thing that should not have been created. Welcome home, sanitarium is actually good. Master of puppets is one of my favorites because of its dun dun.... dun dun dun. I cant get it out of my head. It really is infectious. The lyrics are really well made out that when you find out it was about cocaine it actually makes sense. The worst part is the fact that cliff burton is barely audible when he starts singing the lyrics. This is there best album without a doubt. Pros: Great bass Good drums Great guitar Lyrics to Master of puppets are great Cons: The bass is still hard to hear especially during vocal The vocals aren't that good other than in Master of puppets the thing that should not be Recommended tracks: Master of puppets Battery Welcome sanitarium3.5 greatSlipknot All Hope Is GoneI thought that All Hope is Gone is a great album. It is not one of their best by far. It is not for long time fans. I just have started liking Slipknot. Half of the band isn't even used in this album. I have heard the other albums and the only one that used almost all the band members was their self titled. I will not do a singular rundown of each singular song but all do an overview. The best song overall on this album was all hope is gone. This was very unlike other slipknot albums because all these songs except for a few would fit into an heavy metal album. All hope is gone is a very thrash metalish song. The worst song is gehenna. It is boring and the structure is very annoying. Other than that Corey taylor's voice is the best. Not the best he has but it is very good. Joey Jordison only uses his talent that much. There is double bass but it isn't used well. Sid Wilson and Craig Jones are just about useless along with Paul Gray. It is hard to tell witch one of the guitarists are playing what part. It isn't what the band said it was. It was supposed to be heavier than their sophomore effort Iowa. After hearing All Hope is gone I it is clear that it is a very brutal album. The single psychosocial did indeed sound and is very heavy but sulfur, dead memories, snuff, and all hope is gone missed the mark. The last point I want to make is that they wrote their first true ballad. It is very good but is not what we expected from slipknot. It is dark but too oriented towards love. It is still one of the best songs on the album.
