Many fans of the first two albums say that this album doesn't sound like The Strokes or that it isn't as good as the previous albums due to it's shift in tone, but I feel this ideas are misguided. rThis album is solid and has some of my favorite songs by The Strokes on it. Many of the songs feel aimless and lackluster, and seem to be completely devoid anything I enjoyed about the band. Some songs have that slight reminder that this is indeed still the same band that released 'Is This It' and 'Room on Fire', but it really feels like Julians solo work has seeped into The Strokes and to no beneficial end.rOver all the album passes as decent, but is a bit of a disappointment.
