In The Story So Far, Parker's angst was balanced out by catchy hooks and self-deprecation. But in Snarl, he just sounds like a kid throwing a temper tantrum in his parents' basement. It certainly doesn't help that the instrumentals are the really generic "chugit" style of hardcore, with nothing that makes them stand out. Parker's lyrics also aren't as clever as his work with TSSF, as they can be summed up with "FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK! FUCK YOU! YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" The standout track is easily the closer "Rose," which at least manages to justify its existence. It too has a liberal number of "FUCK"s spread throughout, but it manages to put them in the context of a well-constructed metaphor.
