A Lo-fi album recorded in the '90s, mostly inspired by '60s psychedelic pop classics such as Odessey and Oracle and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, released by the legendary Elephant 6. Yep. And it's quite fucking brilliant.
Excluding the oddly great experimental side the double-LP is pure melody perfection. A somewhat forgotten classic.

Not quite as brilliant/sunny as the two Olivia Tremor Control LPs, but still amongst the best neo-psychedelia and Elephant 6 releases.

Aphex Twin ...I Care Because You Do
...I Care Because You Do is a good example of an inconsistent album. Whenever I put "Wet Tip Hen Ax" on I'm immediately taken away into a perfect gloomy atmosphere, only to be let down 15 seconds later by a terrible glitchy sound that goes on for the rest of the track. This appears to be the problem with much of the album; several of its tracks have tons of potential but are almost ruined by irritating sounds that make the album seem dated as a whole. Massive shame, since the album also consists some of the best electronic music I've ever heard, in particular the absolutely sublime "Alberto Balsalm".

As far as I'm concerned, one of the best Hip-hop albums released in '09. My highlights are "Samsonite Man", "Why" and "When She Calls", all of which are mind-blowingly catchy. Sadly there's some nearly weak filler material as well.
