Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, released by the legendary Elephant 6. Yep. And it's quite fucking brilliant. Excluding the oddly great experimental side the double-LP is pure melody perfection. A somewhat forgotten classic. The Smiths The Queen Is DeadThe Smiths Hatful of HollowThe Velvet Underground The Velvet Underground & NicoThe Velvet Underground The Velvet UndergroundUnwound Leaves Turn Inside YouYo La Tengo I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One4.0 excellentA Tribe Called Quest The Low End TheoryA Tribe Called Quest Midnight MaraudersAnimal Collective Merriweather Post PavilionAphex Twin Richard D. Whenever I put "Wet Tip Hen Ax" on I'm immediately taken away into a perfect gloomy atmosphere, only to be let down 15 seconds later by a terrible glitchy sound that goes on for the rest of the track. This appears to be the problem with much of the album; several of its tracks have tons of potential but are almost ruined by irritating sounds that make the album seem dated as a whole. Massive shame, since the album also consists some of the best electronic music I've ever heard, in particular the absolutely sublime "Alberto Balsalm".Aphex Twin Selected Ambient Works Volume IIAphex Twin WindowlickerAt the Drive-In In/Casino/OutAutechre IncunabulaAutechre Tri RepetaeAutechre AmberAutechre GarbageBelle and Sebastian TigermilkBelle and Sebastian Dog on WheelsBloc Party Silent AlarmBoards of Canada The Campfire HeadphaseBoards of Canada Hi ScoresBrand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside MeBuilt to Spill LiveDaniel Johnston Songs of PainDaniel Johnston Yip/Jump MusicDeath The Sound of PerseveranceDeerhunter Cryptogramsdredg El CieloEric's Trip Love TaraFashawn Boy Meets WorldAs far as I'm concerned, one of the best Hip-hop albums released in '09. My highlights are "Samsonite Man", "Why" and "When She Calls", all of which are mind-blowingly catchy. Sadly there's some nearly weak filler material as well.Fleet Foxes Fleet FoxesGang Starr Step in the ArenaGridlock FormlessGrizzly Bear Yellow HouseInterpol Turn on the Bright LightsKayo Dot Choirs of the EyeKingston Wall III - Tri-LogyKurt Vile Constant HitmakerKurt Vile Smoke Ring For My HaloLisa Germano Geek The GirlMadvillain MadvillainyMetallica ...And Justice for AllMineral EndSerenadingRadiohead Airbag/How Am I Driving?Radiohead In RainbowsRage Against the Machine The Battle of Los AngelesRed House Painters Red House Painters IIRide Going Blank AgainRide Today ForeverRussian Circles EnterRyan Adams Love is HellRyan Adams HeartbreakerSquarepusher Hard Normal DaddyStreetlight Manifesto Somewhere in the BetweenThe Beatles Let It BeThe Beatles The BeatlesThe Dismemberment Plan Emergency & IThe Libertines Up The BracketThe Smiths Meat Is MurderThe Strokes Is This ItThe Third Eye Foundation Little Lost SoulThe Vaselines The Way Of The VaselinesThe Velvet Underground White Light/White HeatThe Velvet Underground VUTim Hecker Harmony in UltravioletTim Hecker Ravedeath, 1972TV on the Radio Dear ScienceTwo Gallants The ThroesUGK Ridin' Dirty3.0 goodAphex Twin Come to DaddyArctic Monkeys Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm NotCirculatory System Signal MorningConverge You Fail MeConverge Axe to FallFleet Foxes Helplessness BluesFrightened Rabbit The Midnight Organ FightGorillaz Demon DaysMount Eerie Wind's PoemPJ Harvey Let England ShakeRadiohead Hail to the ThiefRadiohead The King of LimbsSquarepusher UltravisitorStreetlight Manifesto Keasbey Nights2.5 averageArctic Monkeys Favourite Worst NightmareBabyshambles Shotter's NationKanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy2.0 poorAutechre Gantz GrafBloc Party A Weekend in the City1.5 very poorMetallica St. Anger1.0 awfulNickelback Dark Horse
