Tremonti's intricate and mind blowing riffs draw most of the attention musically while the supporting bass and drums provide an effective foundation. Myles Kennedy takes over vocals in a masterful fashion proving successful at delivering the most intense vocals with amazing range while retaining the ability to effectively deliver whispering vocals in the few soft moments that there are. Amazing riffs, soaring vocals, as well as pounding rhythm and bass ; this record is a good example of what rock is all about.Becoming The Archetype The Physics of FirePhysics Of Fire does not disappoint as a follow up to their first album. While it incorporates a more progressive and technical style than before, the change works out very well for them. All of their strengths are on full display here including both ferocious and clean vocals, tight and complex drumming, and mind blowing guitar work performed by a new guitarist for the band. After the somewhat slow and soft introduction, the album erupts into a metal assault on the ears clocking in at just under an hour. All songs are very well written. An effective instrumental number is thrown in half way through the album. As they did with "Elegy" midway through their first LP, the band finishes with an epic this time. "Balance Of Eternity" effectively brings the album to close and concludes a solid second entry into Becoming The Archetype's musical catalog.Extol SynergyExtol departs from the full on death metal formula used on their first two releases and goes with a recipe that embodies a very technical style of thrash. Some will not appreciate the amount of technical expertise employed by the band, but for those that do, it's a musician's paradise. For that reason, the album will take a few full length listens to take in. All songs are well written while displaying complex riffs and the occasional solo performed by their talented lead guitarist, as well as a variety of extremely tight drum patterns and fills performed by the drummer. Last, but not least, a variety of different types of vocals round out the elements used in the songs. Listeners will hear everything from high pitched screams to low pitched grows. Well incorporated clean vocals are used throughout as well. In summary, Extol's venture into thrash metal is a sonic treat.Living Sacrifice RebornLiving Sacrifice's definitive Thrash album featuring Bruce Fitzhugh on vocals.4.0 excellentDay of Fire Cut & MoveProject 86 Picket Fence Cartel
