5.0 classic
Arcade Fire Funeral
Bear vs. Shark Terrorhawk
This album was a totally random post-hardcore gem. I never saw it coming, and then I loved it forever.
Big Boi Sir Lucious Left Foot
Circa Survive Blue Sky Noise
Circle Takes the Square As the Roots Undo
Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP
One of the most angry, chilling rap albums of all time, the Marshall Mathers LP puts all other rap (excluding everyone associated with him - Snoop, Dre, etc.) to bitter shame.
Eminem The Eminem Show
Fugazi 13 Songs
YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS. ahem. that is all. (I guess this wasn't a review...)
Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Nas Illmatic
Neutral Milk Hotel In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
This album was like the f***ing Beetles of modern indie.
Radiohead Kid A
Titus Andronicus The Monitor

4.5 superb
Aesop Rock None Shall Pass
I didn't see it coming - but this album is amazing. Catacomb Kids and None Shall Pass are some must-listens.
AFI The Art of Drowning
Without using the word "raw" for the millionth time, this album is... great? Yeah. the most accepted "different" punk rock album to come out at the time.
AFI Sing the Sorrow
Such amazing hodgepodge of genres - this album is made to seem like a classic by many and garbage by many others. I'd have to side with the more pessimistic view - while taking a journey from their punk roots to a more emotional, aesthetic realm of rock music, they kept me as a diehard fan.
Animal Collective Merriweather Post Pavilion
I could make the obvious acid joke, or say that Strawberry Jam was better - but I'd rather just say that this album is the reason I haven't given up on the music scene this year (but there should soon be more reasons, hopefully)
Joanna Newsom Have One on Me
Q and Not U No Kill No Beep Beep
This band was so incredibly driven by their drums that I used to completely change my speaker config whenever I played them. Another amazing post-gem.
Raekwon Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt II
This is like one of those sequel albums I wasn't alive long enough to really feel the anxiety of its release - but after hearing it AND it's prequel, I can really feel the intensity
Rites of Spring End on End
These dudes knew how to make a finely crafted, raw, emotional audial piece of artwork, I'm tellin ya.
The Dillinger Escape Plan Option Paralysis
The Sound of Animals Fighting Tiger and the Duke
Titus Andronicus The Airing of Grievances

4.0 excellent
AFI Black Sails in the Sunset
Yeah so this album was just screaming to explode into sing the sorrow.
Anthony Green Avalon
You gotta really love A Green's voice to get into this - but all the same, it's a beautiful album. It's eerie, too - I went to Avalon many times as a child, and get a familiar chill when listening to the new songs on the album. I need to go back there.
Brand New Daisy
Slightly disappointing in ways, and yet thrilling - and an interesting change of pace. i'd like to see where they head from here
Circa Survive On Letting Go
it's such an interesting sensation to love a band and the noise they produce, but not get everything you want from their albums. hopefully the new album will put them in a better light.
Clipse Til the Casket Drops
Deftones Diamond Eyes
Ghostface Killah Apollo Kids
Girl Talk Feed the Animals
I think I heard some Of Montreal in there? and some Lil Mama? Avril Lavigne?! I could hand this man a Michael Bolton CD, a Wiggles tape cassette, and some of those obnoxious cultural music albums from coffee shops and he could make an A+ album.
Gorillaz Plastic Beach
Gucci Mane The State vs. Radric Davis
Kanye West Late Registration
Mastodon Crack the Skye
this album is an excellent addition to Mastodon's already stellar discography. it's intense and moving - all without sacrificing artistic quality, like many in the metal scene tend to do today
MF DOOM Born Like This
Not a very well put-together or organized album, but hey, what am I reviewing here, a Black Eyed Peas album? this is a f***ing DOOM album, and I got what I came for. He is the undisputed villain of rap.
Them Crooked Vultures Them Crooked Vultures
I probably would've given it a 3 or a 3.5 if it wasn't for that first song... no one loves me & neither do i. I can't get over the breakdown in that song... the entire song is honestly one of the best songs i've ever heard.

3.5 great
Circa Survive Juturna
This isn't an immaculate album by any means, but it certainly kicked them off into the big boy's deep end of post-hardcore. Ya gotta show some respect for the Juturna.
Erykah Badu New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh
Every Time I Die New Junk Aesthetic
I'll always respect that this band stuck with the whole "hardcore" thing (even though people tend to tag them as this "metalcore" crap. but that's what pisses me off about them, too - that they're in a scene where people like to put big, fancy, stupid labels on them.
Gorillaz The Fall
Jonsi Go
Kanye West The College Dropout
Kanye West Graduation
Radiohead In Rainbows
Wait What the notorious xx
Wale Attention Deficit
Young Money We Are Young Money

3.0 good
AFI Decemberunderground
A disappointment to many, this album seemed to be more of an experiment than it was the real, new direction of the band.
Broken Bells Broken Bells
Cursive Mama, I'm Swollen
The first and last songs are sick - the rest doesn't seem to meet Cursive's standard
Dirty Projectors Bitte Orca
Dr. Dog Shame, Shame
Goldfrapp Head First
Julian Casablancas Phrazes for the Young
MGMT Congratulations
RJD2 The Colossus
Usher Raymond v. Raymond

2.5 average
Alkaline Trio This Addiction
Coheed and Cambria Year of the Black Rainbow
Eminem Relapse
Well, it's Shady, so there were obviously things about this album I liked. Not a very good album overall, though. I'm glad he was able to shotgun himself back into the industry, though. My hopes are that as he gets older, Marshall will stray from the goofy aesthetic and return to his grumpy roots.
Norma Jean Meridional
Sky Eats Airplane The Sound of Symmetry
Wavves King of the Beach

2.0 poor
Amanda Blank I Love You
It's just so... empty. I can't believe anyone would willingly make this album. And to think I thought she was just such an enjoyable garnish on Spank Rock's songs.
Eminem Recovery
Green Day American Idiot
jj jj n° 3
Kanye West 808s and Heartbreak
Everyone - I'mma let you finish, but Eminem had the best whiney rap album of all time. OF ALL TIME. oh - right - this album is lame. if you like good music.
Lil Wayne Rebirth
N.E.R.D. Nothing

1.5 very poor
The Rocket Summer Of Men and Angels
