| The first time I saw these guys was on the reservation in north phoenix. They played in the dirt in someones backyard, it was excellent. They played this demo from beginning to end, without pause in between tracks. Standing right next to these guys as they played their hearts out was quite an amazing experience to say the least. "Jokes" is comprised of all the tracks here, just re-recorded, and sped up a little. While "Jokes" is an excellent album, it still doesn't compare to this demo. My rating is obviously biased because I can speak from personal experience, and if anyone is currently following them, you know that they are reverting back to that original sound that was present on "New Ruins." This Demo will always live in my memories as an excellent time in punk-rock, I'll never forget that show, and I'll never forget listening to this album over and over again while driving in my car down an empty desert highway. |
