5.0 classic
Aphex Twin Selected Ambient Works 85-92
Converge Jane Doe
Anyone who says that this album is inaccessible is completely right. I listened to this about 5 months ago and hated it, but recently decided what the hell and gave it another try. After 10 spins all the way through, I finally broke through the wall and now I cant get this album out of my head, its fucking incredible. believe the hype, this CD is great. this cd does beg the question though - can any cd be great after many many listens? Im not sure, but whatever im gunna go spin it again

Mastodon Leviathan
Neurosis Through Silver In Blood

Opeth Blackwater Park
Rage Against the Machine Rage Against the Machine
First and best album by arguably one of the best bands of the 90's, if not ever. The energy and creativity put on display by Zach, Tom, Tim and Brad is unmatched and extremely fun to listen to. In addition to the album's merits, this cd was one of the first rock albums I purchased and listened to over and over again and will probably remain one of my favorite pieces of music.
Sleep Dopesmoker
Team America Team America: World Police Soundtrack
The Faceless Akeldama
While I think Planetary Duality is probably better overall in terms of quality and progression for the band, Akeldama will always hold a special place in my music library. Akeldama was actually the first "heavy" metal album that I really got into, and one of the few albums I own that I can listen to all the way through over and over again. An Autopsy, Pestilence, All Dark Graves, and Leica are the standouts and my favorites and are extremely great songs.
Third Eye Blind Third Eye Blind
Wu-Tang Clan Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
The raw energy of the Wu on their debut album alone would be worth a 4 rating at least, while the sheer number of great songs here forces this album to be a 5. The fact that RZA produced and recorded this album in his basement makes this album truly legendary and the performances by every member of the clan unlikely to be topped ever. There really isn't a bad song on this album - if you haven't ever heard it put whatever your listening to now away and pick this up!

This band is great, its a shame they are unsigned. They are like an instrumental version of Intronaut with
less bass, and more craziness. Some Dillinger Escape Plan in there for sure. Really awesome, and streaming

Heavy, intense and strange really sum up this album - the weirdness doesn't detract from how awesome it is though, and songs like topelo keep me coming back to this album again and again. first 5 songs are ridiculously catchy too

Fleshgod Apocalypse Oracles
Fleshgod Apocalypse Mafia
Really awesome EP. Yes, it's short, but its so so sweet, or in this case, sour and brutal as hell. The first song
shows the band's development from "Oracles" with the clean vocals in the chorus - one of my biggest
complaints from "Oracles" was that the songs didnt vary that much, the doublebass just pounded on and on
and the singer growled with a few classical music interludes. Im not usually a clean vocal fan but they fit
well in this song. The other songs are awesome also, especially the cover of Blinded by Fear by At the Gates.
If you are an ATG fan this EP is worth a purchase for this song alone. I could do without the italian movie
lines or whatever that play in the second song, but the incredible guitar riffing that occurs after them is
insane. If you liked "Oracles" at all, even one song, listen to this shit.
Ghost (SWE) Infestissumam
Ghost (SWE) If You Have Ghost

This album has a few more weak songs than Ghost's other 2 releases, however there are quite a few
amazing songs that will fit nicely in their live set with songs from previous albums. Mummy Dust
is bangin in particular.

Great album. Best way to describe this band is like Woe of Tyrants mixed with the best parts of As Blood Runs Black. I agree the vocals are a little weak at parts, but the catchy and melodic guitar more than make up for this. The guitar riffs remind me of At the Throne of Judgment because they are just so catchy and fun to listen to.

Wretched (USA-NC) The Exodus of Autonomy
This album kicks ass. Definitely some TBDM in there, but songs like the title track and VII: the Descent help
Wretched stand apart and are obviously not close to anything BDM would do. As the other sound-offs noted, this
album is great in part because the guitar and drum work here is amazing. If you're into Knights of the Abyss, or
perhaps All Shall Perish, I would recommend checking this album out, even just for the two songs I named plus
Aborning, and A Preservation of Immortality.

Album is pretty good. It is nice to see a deathcore band actually take criticism from past albums to heart and attempt to improve themselves, especially after recent disappointments in the genre such as Conducting from the Grave and As Blood Runs Black. It will be interesting to see if BOO can create an album with a cohesive, overarching theme or concept in the future as they continue to grow.

Everything here is amazing and as would be expected from East of the Wall...except the new vocalist. His

incredible and the band's sense of melody is top notch.

Conducting from the Grave Revenants
The first time I heard "When Legends Become Dust" I knew that I was going to be listening to the album on
repeat many, many times. The first time I heard Revenants I couldn't help but think about how much worse
it was than WLBD and how I would only listen to it multiple times to confirm my initial reaction. In a
nutshell, my biggest complaint with this album is the vocals - they sound incredibly forced. Secondly and
not far behind the poor vocals are the terrible breakdowns, especially the ones where the singer repeats
some stupid line over and over again, with the worst offender at the end of track 5. Really disappointed
with this release because I had such high expectations, but overall I would have to say this is an average
album.
