A Perfect Circle Thirteenth Step
A Wilhelm Scream Career Suicide
Acid Bath Paegan Terrorism Tactics
The most difficult part about this album is the vocals and lyrical themes. Not to say Acid Bath's themes are too brutal, but some of it is just fucking stupid and cliche. It is lines like the ones present in the opening track that are littered throughout the album, deteriorating the value of this work, especially when delivered by poor production standards with a variety of screams and shrieks from vocalist Dax Riggs, some of which effective, some laughable. All quirks aside, it's a pretty solid effort within the vein of doom, sludge, and stoner metal (there is even a fair bit of folk as well). Listen to either Bleed Me an Ocean or Graveflower and you'll have a good idea whether you want to check out the rest of this album or not.

There's more to choose from on this than on Anger, however it seems a little bit weaker than Anger at times. A very fun record for anyone who likes hardcore. Highly recommended listen.

Swans My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky
Likely the most accessible the Swans will ever become. If you liked anything about Soundtracks for the Blind then you should definitely check this out. My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky is far less disturbing than their other material, but that isn't to say the uniquely eerie musicianship isn't present; oh, it is, and as powerful as ever.

I was initially just going to make a stupid comment about how awful this is, but it's actually alright, and pretty damn funny at times since I actually like these songs, especially "Blackened", where all of the harsh bleakness of James' vocals is removed and replaced with a really cheerful mood. That's some whacked out shit, but I can definitely see people who don't listen to Metal or maybe even just those bands liking this, though. Cool cover album.

Crime In Stereo I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone
As Jeremy Aaron states, this album does sound a lot like the bands he mentioned... but not in a good way. None of the songs quite sound "whole," either due to the fact there's clearly way too much crammed into each song in a non-cohesive manner, or because there's just something else missing or needs to be replaced. Very average, boring album. And the album art is fucking terrible.

Throughout most of the EP a lot of the songs sounded dull and exactly the same. Way too many breakdowns and (at times) very annoying vocals are the primary downfall. It's not terrible, just not worth checking out. EDIT: Nevermind that, it sucks.
