Plus, I still can't get over how tight some of their transitions are, and let's not forget the crushing breakdown at the end of "Promises Kept". Face-melter! "Encased in Ice" might be a little too bro'd out for me at it's beginning though, and I'm not ready to commit to yet.August Burns Red ConstellationsBeach House Teen DreamBring Me The Horizon There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It...Cloud Cult Light ChasersCloud Cult continue to fuse their indie roots into a blend of writhing emotion and symphonic journeys through the unknown parts of life's great mission.Crime In Stereo The Troubled StatesideFang Island Fang IslandFour Year Strong Enemy Of The WorldFrightened Rabbit A Frightened Rabbit EPFuck Buttons Street HorrrsingFuture Islands In Evening AirGaza He Is Never Coming BackJames Blake James BlakeNo Age NounsPunch Push PullShlohmo Bad VibesSleigh Bells TreatsStray From The Path Make Your Own HistoryThe Acacia Strain ContinentThe Contortionist ApparitionThe Contortionist ExoplanetThe xx xx3.5 greatA Day To Remember What Separates Me From Youalt-J An Awesome WaveBest Coast Crazy For YouCrime In Stereo I Was Trying to Describe You to SomeoneElectric President The Violent BlueEluvium SimilesFour Year Strong Rise Or Die TryingFuck Buttons Tarot SportJamie's Elsewhere They Said a Storm Was ComingManchester Orchestra Simple MathNo Age Everything In BetweenRa Ra Riot The Rhumb LineThe Acacia Strain WormwoodThe Temper Trap Conditions3.0 goodAugust Burns Red LevelerThis album lacks consistency. The middle of it slows everything down. What I loved about their older albums is that they never let up, ever. That's why I think 'Messengers' is their best effort up until now. It was a constant bombardment of crushing songs that knew what they were and didn't have to search for what they could be during the writing process. Although, 'Constellations' does let up a little bit in how aggressive they're musically, it's still technically appealing and not recycled. It felt fresh. I'm sure this will grow on me and don't believe for a second that "Poor Millionaire" isn't one of their best songs, cause it's great. A couple more listens and I'll know.Crime In Stereo Crime In Stereo Is DeadEl Guincho Alegranza! The Drums The Drums2.5 averageLydia Assailants'This December..' will always hit as the high point for me having been with them from the very beginning, and 'Illuminate' was pretty good, but this is littered with filler and so many alternate effects that it completely detracts from their signature sound on previous albums. It's not horrible by any means, and I can see the direction they took, however it just doesn't add up in the end. I'll see them off on their last tour and hopefully we will see some surprising material from each individual member (knowing Mindy is in 'States') in the future.Oceano Depths2.0 poorFarewell to Freeway Only Time Will TellTheir single "Portrait" is the only good song on this album. Everything else is bland and boring. Nothing to catch you off guard about.
