This is one of the classics from the old school death metal scene. Up there with Morbid Angel, Death, and older Deicide.
Everything from the dark tremolo picking, the mosh-inducing slams, the super evil vocals (they've been called the most evil death metal vocals ever!), and the audible/competent bass guitar; screams old school, brutal death metal. DEFINITELY not an album to pass up if you enjoy death metal the way it should be.

A new band hailing from Somewhere, Ohio, and they are here to take names. The drumming is intense and precise, although sometimes he might not use the proper choice of beat per riff. The guitarists are absolutely insane, and have no problem showing off what they're capable of. The solos are normally peppy and enthusiastic, playing in minor scales but accentuating the major 3rd, or just playing in the major scale. The vocals are also very powerful and diverse, and the lyrics are poetic but are not overly technical. There are a lot of complaints about the breakdown at the end of "Golgotha," but it's super heavy and the riff is catchy, thus making a great album closer.

PERFECT cruising music. Put this in your car stereo, crank it up,and drive around with some friends. When you see a band getting wasted backstage and doing all sorts of crazy stuff, this IS THE music you picture in your head. I'm straight edge, and this band even makes me want to get wasted and trash a hotel room.
The riffs are sick, the drums are sick, the bass is sick, and the vocals still sound like a dude partying.

Very good album. Kind of pigeonholed by The Black Dahlia Murder and the such, but they pull it off very well. Excellent drumming and excellent guitar work. Vocals are well done and the lyrics are interesting. The dark, tremolo picked passages alone make this album worth buying. The title track is also an amazing instrumental including some flamenco guitar.

Deathcore with enough melody and catchiness to keep it from sounding like everyone else, and without the breakdowns it would just sound like a more technical version of In Flames. This album, along with other "Midwestern Melodic Deathcore" bands (Woe Of Tyrants, The Crimson Armada, Brother Von Doom), suffers from the problem that the albums are too long and there simply is not enough fuel for a 50 minute release.
