| Change is inevitable, especially in this overcrowded metalcore scene. "An Ocean Between Us", is As I Lay Dying's attempt at creating a more individual sound. This album definitely offers a much different, varied sound the the previous album "Shadows are Security", but sounds less refined at points, particularly during "Comfort Betrays" and "Bury Us All". Nevertheless this is still a very solid release by AILD and is definitely a step in the right direction. |
