Epica Design Your Universe
Before listening to this album, I was not a big fan of Epica. But after hearing this, they made me believe that they are capible of making a very stellar album. This honestly blew me away: musically, lyrically, vocally, everything you would want to eventually hear from a band like this. Now that After Forever broke up, this is a chance for Epica to step it up a notch, and that is exactly what they did with this release. This is easily, by far, their best album, and I'd say this is the best album I heard this year so far too, and it shows how symphonic metal should sound while putting itself as one of the best albums in the genre. 4.5/5

Indeed a great album! Marco's vocals, so powerful and pure, as good as ever! This band is extremely underrated! It's too bad because they are really good if you get a chance to listen to them!

An excellent album for those who are fans of the FF games, or just music in general. There are times when the music has too many electronic features added to it and can ruin the flow of some tracks, but it is still amazing anyways. These guys really do have a lot of talent!

A different style than what most fans of this band are used to, but it still feels and sounds like a Tyr album.

Apocalyptica Worlds Collide

In Flames Sounds of a Playground Fading
A step in the right direction both with better guitar work and lyrics than the previous album, but overall it is still very generic sounding metal and Anders' vocals isn't helping any either.

Megadeth Cryptic Writings
Metallica Load
ReVamp ReVamp

2.0 poor
Amaranthe Amaranthe
Epinkion Epinikion
Epinkion is not anything special in this genre. This is rather generic power metal with an extremely high pitched female singer. You're better off just sticking to Nightwish or Sonata Arctica for that matter.
In Flames Soundtrack to Your Escape
In Flames A Sense of Purpose
A pretty disappointing album from In Flames! While some songs are good on this album, most of them are too repetitive and their riffs aren't as creative as past albums. I hope their next album is better! If you want to hear In Flames at their best, I recommend either Whoracle or Jester Race.
