This song is totally artistic, as is this band and nearly everything they have put out.1.0 awfulMudvayne The New GameFirst, from an artistic standpoint, "The New Game" is Awful. It comes on the heels of a live album with cover artwork so offensive that music stores and chain stores were actually afraid to stock it, as it made a mockery of people in general. To tone down this economically dour trend, Mudvayne came out with the current fare which sports a subtle albeit millitaristic cover. Okay.... Inside cover art breaks from this potentially interesting path, however, as we are treated to an assortment of "suspect" people that one can only characterize as doing quite poorly in life both financially and psychologically. This friends, is a cloaked jab by Mudvayne at the very people whom they call fans, much as was the cover art of "BTPFTP"- the live album. The music itself has taken uncoventional timing and avenues to ridiculous extremes. Songs like tracks 1 and 6 start off well, but go on to be unlistenable, because they feel unfully developed unlike a song like say, "Death Blooms". As a total work, the best song on the record is the tenth track, which actually can be somewhat touching if you forget about its source and specious history. The entire songwriting is juvenile and horrible. A new album in 6 months?
