I gave the album a rating of average because as a musical album it did not show me anything I have not already heard. Each song displays a different genre of mainstream music (to be honest if I wanted to hear those genres, I would buy an album from an band who could actually play the music and make it original).
As a listener of their earlier music, I stayed faithful up until their album "A deathgrip on Yesterday" because I felt that the band had ditched their roots and were moving on to support a larger fan base. In many rock/metal magazines they applaud the move by saying things like "they are only thinking of moving forward", "going for a bigger fan base is every bands dream" which is a bunch of corporate bs, because their house was built from a strong metalcore following, then ditched the it for a mansion down the road.
If i were to give the album a rating as a piece of all their albums as whole, I would give this album an awful rating |
