The Greenhornes Sewed Soles
A blues-esque band from Cincinnati with a Detroit connection by way of The White Stripes. They've worked closely together with Jack White, even forming The Raconteurs with two of three members of The Greenhornes.
The Killers Sam's Town
The Kills Midnight Boom
They appeared only slightly in the doorway, VV and Hotel. I saw her leopard coat and his hat and I could hardly contain myself. They came up on stage and started of with URA Fever. A low song, switching every line from her to him while a dial tone is going in the background. The chorus features a clapping sound and a distinct one-two beat throughout the song. Their voices meet every once in a while during the bridge and Hotel rips into his guitar licks. VV's stage presence is so in your-face-I'm-Here-to-Entertain-You, it's very attractive. Afterward, they shot right into Sour Cherry, an upbeat with a good dance "groove." VV got everyone clapping while Hotel rocked out and they both sang. Other featured songs were Last Day of Magic and Tape Song where they both played their guitars and Hotel one time playing a harmonica in VV's guitar as she sang to us. They once got close to the mic it led me to believe they were in love... but that's got nothing to do with the music. All in all, they brought it and they brought it well. Kudos for the two piece, I hope to see more music from them in the future.
