3.5 great
Anathema Judgement
Avenged Sevenfold Nightmare
Borealis Illusions
Clutch Earth Rocker
Clutch From Beale Street To Oblivion
Fear Factory Obsolete
Kamelot Ghost Opera
Kryptos The Coils Of Apollyon
Kryptos Burn Up The Night
An exceptional follow up to the Coils of Apollyon. This album is a love letter to all of the traditional metal roots, blending Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Venom into one hell of an album.
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster II
Mechina Empyrean
Mechina Siege
Mushroomhead XIII
Nightwish Century Child
Orbit Culture Nija
Wildly top heavy, when the focus is more on telling a story versus just being really god damn heavy, they stand ahead of their peers. Nensha and The Shadowing are perfect examples of this. Very intrigued by this band
Psychostick Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs in 3
Hilarious, with some authentic balls-to-the-walls metal. Stand out tracks include Welcome to the show, It's just a movie stupid, the root of all evil, and methane crescendo.
Scar Symmetry Pitch Black Progress
Scar Symmetry Symmetric in Design
Sevendust Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow
Sevendust Alpha

Soilwork The Chainheart Machine
Soilwork Overgivenheten
Still Remains Of Love and Lunacy
Trivium Ember to Inferno
Trivium What the Dead Men Say
Unleash The Archers Abyss
More of a rollercoaster ride than Apex was, but they got a few fuckin bangers on here. only one or two songs out of the album aren?t top notch, may bump to a 4 if it stays in my rotation for a while.
Unleash The Archers Phantoma
Volbeat Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies
Swap "The Sinner is You" for "Ecotone" on deluxe edition and this would be a 5
3.0 good
36 Crazyfists Rest Inside the Flames
Anathema Eternity
Children of Bodom Are You Dead Yet?
Chthonic 政治 Battlefields of Asura
Fuck yeah motherfucker, this slays. Lost half a point cause Randy blythes contribution was completely unnecessary.
Eyes of Fire Ashes to Embers
Ive only heard a few tracks, but the song Hopeless alone is enough for me to recommend this.
Five Finger Death Punch The Way Of The Fist
Hollywood Undead Swan Songs
Kryptos Force Of Danger
Fuck these riffs are great, but production wise, they might be keeping it a little too old school... r
Mastodon Once More 'Round the Sun
Sorry, but the main vocalist just isn't very good. A lot of decent songs here, but the singer either needs to get a vocal coach or change their approach.rwould be a 3.5 if it weren't for that.
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster Maylene and the Sons of Disaster
Mechina Progenitor
Mechina Acheron
Mechina Xenon
Mechina As Embers Turn To Dust
Metallica Death Magnetic
Some majorly flawed elements detract from an album that has great moments that are separated by utterly jarring and dull and rookie mistakes.
Nightwish Dark Passion Play
Scar Symmetry Dark Matter Dimensions
Scar symmetry have returned, and in all honesty Christians absence is only a minor inconvenience. Some songs are more filler than were used to with Scar Symmetry, but the standouts are truly fantastic. Overall the album has a much more aggressive feel than Holographic Universe which is either a good or bad thing depending on who you ask.
In regard to the vocals, they seem much more realistic in terms of their reproduction in the live setting. Christian was great in the studio, but couldn't even come close to reproducing the act live. With that said, there are still some great vocal theatrics at play here, but theyre a little more restrained and I never thought to myself "Oh come on, theres no way that would happen at a concert." In the end, i think it was a necessary change for the band as it was starting to sound a little unreasonable at times with christians over the top approach. EDIT: Props to the guitarist, the fretwork is incredible as always |
Sevendust Seasons
Silent Civilian Rebirth of the Temple
Skindred Babylon
Soilwork Natural Born Chaos
Soilwork Verkligheten
Spineshank Self Destructive Pattern
Submersed Immortal Verses
Too much filler but there are some truly great songs on this album, an artist's prayer being probably the most melodic and beautiful of them all.
Trivium In Waves
Trivium The Sin and the Sentence
Volbeat Rewind, Replay, Rebound
Volbeat Seal the Deal & Let's Boogie
