| Morbid Angel Formulas Fatal to the Flesh |
| Morbid angel can be...frustrating at times. It seems like every album tries something new. Its always still very death metal but it seems they are never content with sticking with one style, or progressing naturally, they seem to jsut randomly pick how they want to sound? does that make any sense? haha let me elaberate. Alters for isntance is very raw and fast. Blessed is alittle slower. Covenant is solid for comericail. Domination is like half good and have slime haha. And NOW we get to failures, Wow even with some key members passing this is friggen ridiculous, Trey did alot better at writing this album than alot expected, its some of the fastest stuff since alters. In fact my only comlaint really is all the instrumental tracks. One or 2 maybe can add to the flow of the album, but all of these take away from the total effect. But the actual meaty songs are just sick, really imporessive for 1999, infact that fisr time i heard it i thought rutan was still in the band, because its just as brutal as the stuff hes written for lets say hate eternal. so yeah i think if the production was different, different song placement, no annoying instrumentals this could rank alot higher, but its still awesome |

| This is the first Morbid Angel record i ever listened to so it has a special nastalgic factor to it haha but serisousll this is a really cool album. It has alot of diversity in the tracks, some are really heavy and have almost a groovey feel to them, while others focus on sheer speed. ITs still pretty early in their career so the songs are relativly primative but thats not always bad. Its just really solid |
