10/29/2008 - I've been a die-hard kmk fan since 2000, so my opinion is obviously biased. I want to like every album so bad, but some need more time to grow on me. Rollin stoned was classic, but since then its been up and down on each album. Last year I thought seemed to be a turning point as cloud 9 was a good listen from the first time.

The Green Album I would say is their most laid-back stoner friendly release to date. If you liked Rest of my life, tangerine sky, rip the night away, can anybody hear me, and pass it around, I think you'll like this album. There are still are a few harder rap songs, but their overall tempo for the album seems to be slower. It doesn't sound like the early years 98-02, which was what got everybody hooked, but I think we have to move on, go to a live show and you can hear all that.

Overall the whole album flows together very well, where you can just pop it in, pass the bowl around and not feel the need to skip tracks, to hurt the mood. There are a couple tracks where you're like wtf, but a lot of them will get repeat plays years from now.

I think they worked harder on this album than in years past, as they said they chose from 60 recorded tracks. It's not as edgy, but certainly their most polished effort to date, and I love it, no need to grow on me.

5/18/2009 - Not that anyone cares, but i was selecting my favorite songs from my whole music collection to fit on my smaller 8gb phone. I got to kmk and i realized that i only put like 5 songs from the green album on it, and like 12 each from high society and rollin' stoned. i think that on my original review of a 5.0 i was just really excited because it was such an improvement in my eyes over koast 2 koast and cloud 9. however upon further consideration it does not even come close to those previously mentioned.

I like the kings for their change in tempos, combination of different sounds, throwing the raps back and forth between each other during verses, and of course the ganja part.
I don't know why they feel compelled to put 20 tracks on every album, adding more tracks sometimes hurts more then it helps.

Anyways this is a solid rap album, I hear the kings voices on all the tracks, but I feel like the majority of the beats could be from any mainstream rapper. It just takes away from the originality that is kmk.

The stony songs that grace every recent kmk album aren't really stony just laid back. I do really like the song "lucky day" its got the feel of the song from SNSouljaz "summertime" but just better.

Lyrical wise, who cares? No one listens to kmk for their masterful use of the english language.

I know I sound down about the album but it is great, but I just hope every time for the next, Tangerine Sky, Life Rolls On, or Rip the Night Away.

If I made a "best of" cd, I can only imagine maybe one song from this album making it. Maybe it's too early to tell.

Favorite Tracks: 2, 6, 12, 14, 15, 16
Why?: 3, 9, 17, 19 (It is kinda catchy though)

*Disclaimer: I was not high while listening to it (I know, wtf is wrong w/me its 420)

Alright so what the heck is this? I'm not sure who did the math on this album but it says 25 new unreleased tracks. i counted 18. i suppose its ok though, its only 1 cd worth of new songs and it only costs the price of 1 cd. Who decided though to fill up 40 tracks though cmon, they put a song from 2004 on here (Kingspade-adventures of this). so to be fair ill just grade the unreleased songs in which i found 4 good songs from the first listen. 8 ehh songs that may grow on me, and 6 songs that basically sucked. now kmk is one of fav groups ever and still will be. but they didnt have to release this, im sure its for a few extra bucks. oh and did anyone really not get disc 2 from the green album? they put every song from disc 2 green album on here, doesnt make sense to me. k.i.n.g.4.l.i.f.e but you should prob d.o.w.n.l.o.a.d.
