With the self titled track, "Godspeed to your deathbed" and "Redemption....Is A Cold Body" Being the stronger tracks. The album was judged by most critics as being un-definative, and that it didnt stand out. Hell Within went back to the drawing board, and came back with "Shadows of Vanity". You Will listen to a few albums in your lifetime that will come round the corner and kick you in the face, but none quite as hard as Shadows of Vanity will. The second track on the ablum "My Exit In Red" deffinitly shows that Hell Within have changed, and become stronger in the process. This is the song that prooves to the world that you dont always need screaming to keep it heavy. The crunching vocals of J.J Long compliment the album with not just some of the beasty screams you will ever hear, but the smoothline vocals show the bands diversity and tallent. (The solo for My Exit In Red owns all) You go out tomorow and buy one album...make it Hell Withins Shadows of Vanity, You wont regret it. I Didnt. This is only a band i had heard at the start of summer this year, and are already at the top of my playlist.
