Haste the Day Dreamer
I'm really biased when it comes to Haste The Day because they are from my hometown and because of them that I listen to anything I listen to now. Seriously. Before Jimmy and the boys started tearing up the Emerson my favorite band was Creed. I met some of my best friends going to their shows and their lyrics are permanently placed in my mind. They're a part of me. That said, I think this album is incredible. It takes me back to the days of Burning Bridges, just going crazy with the heavy stuff and then dropping some clean vocals and melodies that leaves you wondering if you're listening to a different band before snapping your neck with a breakdown. Steven now has had as many records with the band as Jimmy Ryan did and he proves his worth on this album. His screams are almost horrific (in a good way) here and he still adds some clean singing into the mix. This album is way more intense than their previous two albums and it may turn off some fans. But to paraphrase a song from one of those albums, "I know I've said it before, but this time it's real: Forget the past, it's gone."

Crime In Stereo Selective Wreckage
A collection of b-sides and demos recorded in sessions between 2006's The Troubled Stateside and 2007's Crime In Stereo Is Dead. This album shows the transgression between the faster, more punk sounds of Stateside to the more ethereal and powerful songs on Is Dead. While not perfect, these songs showcase a great band on the verge of becoming a force to be reckoned with in the hardcore scene.

They were a mediocre band with a few passable songs and now they're a terrible band with no redeeming qualities. They have some potential potential to be decent, but their sound is so washed and been-there-done-that. I'd be very surprised if they're still around in a year or two.
