More than 3 times, I was tempted to hit FF> (and I did) and that's not usually a good sign. To be fair, I went back, and listened to the complete album about 6 more times, to get a better picture of whatever direction these tunes were going. That being said, I agree with many people who tell me that only about half (or less) of the tunes on this album are worthy of mentioning. My personal favorites are the last two tracks: Suicide and Redemption, and My Apocalypse. The tracks I also see worthy of a mention are The Judas Kiss, Cyanide, and The Day That Never Comes. However, I will mention that TDTNC is only really made worth in my mind, due to the emotionally powerful video produced by Dane Thomas Vinterberg. I wish that Metallica would quit screwing around with the sound implementation! This CD sounded kind of ok in my car (an '06 Honda Civic w/ stock radio). But when I got home and put it into my stereo, it sounded a lot like St. Anger's mix in a way. Only a bit worse. I can see the benefit of using today's technology to bring out a great mix, I truly can. Even in my car, the mix sounds uneven (has anyone heard the floor tom that drowns out the entire mix???) and it is "super compressed". On a side note, I'd like to re-welcome Robert Trujillo as a MONSTER of bass, far more worthy of Metallica than anyone.... Robert may you have 250% better luck with the fellas, than Jason did
