The Carnage Visors Midnight Curfew [EP]
i gave myself 5/5, i'm that cool.
and stop talking about operator please when you should be talking about how great i am.
also also, why would you compare me to a comedy/folk duo? it's lovely to have a review but i get the feeling that you probably wouldn't enjoy the sort of music that inspired the release. artists like grouper and slowdive, who do a lot of covering up of their own vocals played a huge part in the stylistic direction.
a lot of the reason i triple-tracked all of the vocals (and probably part of the reason the ep was released for free) was simply to experiment with the idea of texture within vocals. each track is rhythmically and harmonically slightly different, although not so much as to become the sort of 'contemporary' music that is academically great but at times is simply unlistenable.
'please walk past my door' is easily my personal favourite track off the release. the synth pads running in the background took a lot of tweaking to get the desired sounds, and the arpeggio gets me every time.
i'm glad that somebody has taken the time to review our work, even if the rating is perhaps lower than i had hoped. my dalliances with pop music have personally i think improved significantly (see: the two tracks taken from the upcoming debut album) and midnight curfew was definitely a sort-of inbetween release; a way of bridging the gap between my original minimal gothic instrumentals and the new, more disciplined work i'm trying to put together with madeleine. hopefully the next album will be worthy of a better score.

p.s.: screw you i'm still doing the vocals!
