maudlin of the Well Bath
Y'know what's kinda sad but kinda awesome, how many of my friends refuse to listen to this band because there not played on Kerrang or Scuzz, or in any of the magazine's. maudlin of the Well should be much bigger then they are. However on the plus side my friends seem to think that good heavy music begins and ends with Distrubed and bands like that. Well certainly their ignorance is being punished, they'll never get to listen to Bath. This album is one that comes along so rarely, it hits on every level, not a dull song or moment, just brilliant in every way, one of my favourite releases of the year, if not the decade. Amazing prog.
Metallica Master Of Puppets
This album is definately the height of Metallica's career, every song is brilliant, the title song is a work of thrash art, everything before and after pales in comparison to this thrash masterpiece.
Neutral Milk Hotel In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
A folksy, sincere, piece of art, brilliant, however vocals and distortion can be a bit off putting.
Queensryche Operation: Mindcrime
A five should mean something that pushes its genre to new levels, when talking about concept albums there's none better then Queensryche's Operation Mindcrime. The music and story mesh brilliantly to give one of the best musical experiences that could be hoped for in a concept album. Even now nearly twenty years later it still leaves most other concept albums in the dust, just brilliant.
