| Jimmy Chamberlin is one of the most complex drummers in all of alternative music, and with the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex, he gets to take control over his music. In normal, formulaic music, the vocals and the guitars lead the music, but with this perplexing jazz fusion album, Chamberlin's drums take the lead. The music is very progressive, and from time to time you can even hear some Death Growls, but along the way we hear some nice, relaxing jazz. Overall this record is very lush and unique, and Jimmy's drumming is some of the best he's done, inspired, complex, and speedy. This album is for anyone who likes the sound of the drums over the sound of speedy solos, and anyone who likes some progressive elements in their jazz. |
