This "Solid Gold Hits" album does exactly what it promises; it delivers the hard hitters. Commercially hard hitters, anyway. While listening, I felt some songs could have been left out, with the remaining nuggets being rearranged in a way that makes more sense. These will most likely seem like trivial problems to the casual listener out there, though.
If you already own each respective album with songs featured on here, there's no real reason to buy this, unless you find the Fat Boy Slim Remix of "Body Movin'" worth the tag price or are a die hard Beastie Boys fan. If either of those are the case, by all means, have at this collection! However, if you do not own more than one Beastie Boys CD, I would highly recommend this as a first, or second, step into the world of the Boy Beasties. |
