Embrace The End Ley Lines |
i was really surprised by this album. i saw this band play a month or two ago at a show, and was drawn in by their technicallity and amazing guitar work. Still, i wasnt completely sold.
then i found their cd for a good price the other day, and thought why not...
once again, it really surprised me. i didnt expect to like it this much. the guitars are great, the drumming is very modest and well done (by modest i mean that he doesnt show off too much like lots of metalcore and deathcore drummers do these days). i really dont mind the vocals at all. darkest hour, for example, doesnt have the greatest vocals (at least i dont like them), but the musicianship really shows. embrace the end is the same way. personally, i dont think the album is particularly front heavy... two of my favorite songs are "ley lines" and "the god switch" are the last two songs on the album.
it's no masterpiece, but embrace the end has a lot of potential, and i look forward to see what they come up with in the future.
