They break away from their signature sou8nd and baffle us with their stupendous playing. The addition of Martin Axenrot and Frederik Akesson really stirred things up a bit. Musically, it's like a masterpiece. It's like My Arms Your Hearse all over again.4.5 superbProtest the Hero FortressWell, Protest the Hero has done away with the poppy vocals and gone to the extremes. The first track "Bloodmeat" is very agressive and obviously the single off the album. It's not all too amazing, but it caught my attention. The next track "The Dissentience" is probably my favorite off the album. The musicianship levels in this band is phenominal. They're unlike any recent band I've heard before. Their style reminds me of Dillinger Escape Plan, except with more structured and harmonizing music. Songs are great, Could be a little longer...But odd time signatures and guitar tapping riffs win me over on this one.
