Solid rock sound, interesting use of subtle violins and adult chorus in a couple of the cuts. Lyrically very solid. Lot of emotion exhibited. Pretty decent variety in their sound.Redlight King Irons in the FireLove this album. Much rockier than their first album with much more emphasis on their instrumentation. Main theme throughout the album is that life is tough, nothing is free, so what are you going to do about it? The rock/rap of his first album is not nearly as prevalent on this album (love their first album, just saying) and this album is not as personal a reflection on his own life as life in general. All of his songs have meaning and you want to listen to his words as opposed to so many other albums where the lyrics aren't important. Each song is different from the others, yet has a smoothness about it that does not make it disjointed. Hope their third album blends both of their first two albums together. 3.5 greatAdelitas Way Adelitas WayBlack Stone Cherry Black Stone CherryRedlight King Something For The PainLove this, especially lyrically, but perhaps a little more variety is needed on the overall sound.3.0 goodAdelitas Way StuckBlack Stone Cherry Folklore and SuperstitionEd Kowalczyk AliveEvery song is religious in nature. Not that that is bad, only wish he used a little more variety with his lyrics. Shinedown The Sound of MadnessTrain Save Me San Francisco2.5 averageBlack Stone Cherry Between the Devil and the Deep Blue SeaHas some good stuff on it, but I don't see a lot of progression on this one. John Young's drumming is less aggressive.Black Stone Cherry Magic MountainDefinitely expected more out of them. They sound tired or something.
