Honestly, there are decent things about this record, the only problem is, I've heard this style presented too often by other bands, and it is nothing special. Honestly, the drumming is mediocre. If you want to hear good drumming, listen to Death (newer), Meshuggah, Planet X, Dream Theater, Tool, and Opeth. In Flames is nowhere near any of these bands in the drumming section. The bass is terribly silent, the guitar riffs are catchy but don't really contain a unique aspect to them(meaning they sound interchangeable with many other bands riffs). The one thing I will give you is that the lyrics may be good, although I never paid attention to them because the music didn't impress me.2.5 averageOpeth Blackwater Park
