Giving them the benefit of the doubt, this is the best album ICP released in their entire careers. And I'm not a fan of theirs by any means. In fact, the only act I actually listen to on their label is Dark Lotus. But, by presenting some of the darkest, humorless, most extreme music of any of their albums, they've offered a fine contribution to the horror-rap phenomenon. Not that it advances the artform, of course, but this is ICP. Did you really expect them to advance any art form? Anyway, yeah, less dumb jokes and fun. Just an hour of a musical tour through hell. This album is not pretty. |
