The Microphones The Glow Pt. 2 (Re-release)
This album is inspiring. I typically find low-fi indie sound annoying, but the poor recording quality enhances the bizarre power of the album. It sounds like you're in this guy's basement with his collection of large boxes and broken drumheads from dumpsters and created some malformed guitar amp from a home-rigged jukebox circuit. And maybe there's a broken lawnmower on his parents' lawn out front. The music is off the rails, somehow keeps propelling itself forward despite its near rhythmic collapse at all moments. This would be impossible to recreate, I think, and for that I love it.
