They said that they fired her because her relationship with her husband was driving her away from the band. Now Nightwish has a new singer, Annete Olzen. She has a pop-rock like voice, while it isn't bad it doesn't fit the the band power-metal style. They released a new album called Dark Passion Play which is doesn't have many memorable songs. A few months after Tarja released her solo album. The songs have lyrics which are inspired by finnish mythology, they are like stories. The album has a cold feel to it, which fits the name real way, it sticks with this theme throughout the hole album. Her voice is wonderful on all of the tracks, she doesn't hit a wrong note. The problem is that some songs don't feel too powerful, some have a dull instrumental track. Except for these songs the album is pretty solid all the way. Recommended songs on this album: Ciaran's Well , I Walk Alone, Lost Northern Star, The Reign.
