5.0 classic
Breach It's Me God
Corrupted Garten Der Unbewusstheit
Discordance Axis The Inalienable Dreamless
Brilliant, beautiful, raging grindcore. Best ever written, in my opinon. Beyond perfection, and one of my all-time favorite albums.
Equilibrium Erdentempel
Equilibrium have not a shred of kvlt cred and their music is soaked in folk metal cliches like hurdy-gurdy and flute solos, but when it comes to consistently PRISTINE songwriting, hooks and melodies galore, all while being a ton of fun and quite frankly I could give a hoot less if they take themselves seriously, this album is a masterwork and "Uns'rer Floten Klang" is just...happiness in a tune.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
Incapacitants As Loud as Possible
Power noise wall? Cacophonous longform electronic chaos, but with a charming character I can't quite describe. It doesn't undulate, it straight up morphs. It's so goddamn loud and subtle and the same time... Absolutely mindcrushing.
Isis Panopticon
maudlin of the Well Bath
I've listened to this several times, and after trying to pick the best song, I realized that the entire thing is genius. Absolutely gorgeous levels of awe-inducing perfection.
Neurosis The Eye of Every Storm
Panopticon Collapse
Sigur Ros Takk...
Happy incarnate. The sound of the sun coming up and shining through white curtains and an open window. The climax of Milano is an orgasm, I want to set a porn movie to it except no one will consider it porn instead people will show it to their tween children and say "This is what sex is." Alternatively I'd like to have my future wife come through the doors of our wedding to it. Preferably that one.
Sunn O))) Monoliths and Dimensions
Finally agreed with myself that this is a classic. Ridiculous levels of avant-garde weirdo creativity, heaviness, and drone fuzz. I can't help but love it, it's a trip.
Swans The Seer
Sweet Jesus.
Swans To Be Kind
Anybody who rates this lower than a 4 clearly has different auditory tastes than me.
The National High Violet
The Tallest Man on Earth The Wild Hunt

4.5 superb
Andrew Bird Break It Yourself
Converge All We Love We Leave Behind
Danny Brown Atrocity Exhibition
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMNNNN DANIEL.rlike really doe like really doe

Frigoris Wind
Grinning Death's Head Golden Dawn
Hop Along Get Disowned
Laura Stevenson Wheel
Can this just leak so I can listen to it and be super happy?
Merzbow Dust of Dreams
Genius-grade sound manipulation. Japanoise is best
Musk Ox Woodfall
Rorcal Vilagvege
Swans The Great Annihilator
Swans Children of God
The Drones I See Seaweed

4.0 excellent
Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties We Don't Have Each Other
Air Review Low Wishes
Amenra Mass V
Bat For Lashes The Haunted Man
Bon Iver Bon Iver, Bon Iver
Desolate Shrine Deliverance From The Godless Void
I know it's just the Greek name for those weird triplets that share an eye in the Disney Hercules movie, but I can NOT stop reading "The Graeae" as "The Grease" and it really ruins this whole album for me
Eluvium Copia
The soundtrack to falling in love and dancing away in eternal slow circles.
Eluvium Nightmare Ending
Genocide Organ Remember
I'm wearing Adam Thomas' old band's shirt and I'm 4'ing GO while playing a l337 noisehead. I have never been banned and to date no one has physically fought me
Incapacitants Default Standard
One of the better Incapacitants releases, (the lower end the better with these two IMO) marking it high among the annals of Japanoise itself. Severely underrated here, apparently.
James Blake Overgrown
Japandroids Celebration Rock
drunk drunk drunk drunk drunk drunk drunk drunk drunk drunk drunk drunk drunk drunk drunk drudkh
Mono For My Parents
Nadja Sv
Actual rating probably a 3.8, good to see a return to form. Aidan's always at his best building one 45-minute-long monolith and Leah needs to just be noisy as fvk. Comparable to "Thaumogenesis," but a little less organic and more...industrial?
Neurosis Honor Found in Decay
Om Advaitic Songs
Regina Spektor Soviet Kitsch
Steel Train Steel Train
Swans Soundtracks for the Blind
The Dillinger Escape Plan One of Us Is the Killer
The Mars Volta Noctourniquet
The National Trouble Will Find Me
The Tallest Man on Earth There's No Leaving Now
Timber Timbre Hot Dreams
Wow, this impressed much more than expected. Many stylistic throwbacks to pre-60's music, richly textured and satisfyingly gothic without eye shadow or tears.
Vit The Dry Season
White Lung Sorry

3.5 great
Ash Borer Cold of Ages
Stop sounding off early you're getting my hopes up that it leaked.
Boris Präparat
Kayo Dot Plastic House on Base of Sky
This is, I think, a more cohesive and confident version of the Kayo we got on Coffins. rAlso, has anybody else noticed the acronym is P.H.O.B.O.S.?
Queens of the Stone Age ...Like Clockwork
Streetlight Manifesto The Hands That Thieve
Swans My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky
Tegan and Sara Heartthrob
The Killers Battle Born
You Slut! Medium Bastard

3.0 good
Baroness Yellow and Green
Demon Hunter Outlive
Demon Hunter make their 3rd consecutive album of weak singles and bland ballads but still manage to rip some entertaining metalcore riffs, probably courtesy of the still-fresh guitarist trade-ins from a few years back
Kanye West Yeezus
Panopticon Kentucky
Regina Spektor What We Saw from the Cheap Seats

2.5 average

Yeah Yeah Yeahs Mosquito
