I agree with your review to some extent but I think you are comparing this album with the bands legacy in Black Metal which they had not experienced yet. At the time, no one knew what the band would go on to acheive, and I think this album is an awesome Death Metal album for the time, you could easily slot this in between Death's Scream bloody Gore and Leprosy minus the vocals. I think this is the rightful place any listener should start if they want to experience the Darkthrone treatment, and not work themselves backwards and then forwards form Transilvannian Hunger.
