4.0 excellent
Bad Side Bad Side
This CD rocks! Songwriting is excellent and for an independant CD - it sounds great! The CD kicks off with a mellow instrumental piano piece called Prelude to a Kill and then it kicks in with some great rock that only pedals down for a great ballad called I Will Come To You. I wasn't crazy about every song but I only would have passed on maybe one song called Filthy Nasty. I look forward to hearing their new CD that is due for release soon!

2.0 poor
Bon Jovi Lost Highway
I have to admit that I was not expecting much from this CD. I figure that it is better to set my sights low and be pleasantly surprised. However - there was no surprise and Jon Bon Jovi and company (although we all know that big ego Jon is running the show with very little input from his much more talented compadres) hit the wall with this release. Obviously Jon Bon Jovi thinks that his audience is only middle aged soccer moms now..and with this CD that is what his audience will become. Jon Bon Jovi is clearly only in this now for the "hit" whether it is in his genre or not. Sure, a band has to grow..but this is not growth..this is the opposite. He claims in many interviews that this CD is the band's return to their roots. What country bumpkins were jammin on the Jersey shore??? We all know that Jon's roots are Springsteen! Even Bruce is rocking harder these days than JBJ and company. Jon is clearly in need of some smelling salts. I cannot see me buying any more Bon Jovi CDs in the future until they wake up but even then - it is going to take a lot to win me back to the fold as a fan. Jon's hit at any cost is proven in this lack lustre attempt at being a country band. Honesty always shines through and nothing is shining through on this new CD because plain and simple - you cannot polish a turd. I know some people think I am being harsh but the fact is that the band was at least in the ballpark with Crush and to a lesser degree with Bounce but since then - the downward spiral is literally out of control. When you see Bon Jovi more on CMT than on VH1 - you know that something is dangerously wrong! Wake Up Jon!
