Korn Untitled
Ah, what can I say, a brand new release from my favorite band ever. THis has Korn playing at their peak, with better musicianship than ever before.

"Bitch We Got A Problem" is one stand out in this album of stand outs. It is extremely catchy, with some amazing lyrics about schizophrenia. Unsurprisingly, this song was made the second single, after "Evolution," another catchy, melodic song. The lyrics touch on the theory of human de-evolution... basically, we're all getting dumber and dumber. Not a fun topic to think about, but a damn fun song!

Elsewhere, there is some psychedelic elements here. "Kiss" features what sounds like a mellotron (!) about halfway into the song. This is just one example of the many psychedelic components of this album. "I Will Protect You" also features psychedelia (and some great drumming from fill in Terry Bozio).

This album touches a lot on Brian "Head" Welch leaving the band. I find this to be in pattern with Korn's habit of being cathartic and confessional. I think it's great they're speaking out about this difficult turning point in their career, especially in this and See You On The Other Side.

The special edition includes a DVD, which is absolutely great. It shows the album being made. It is good, but not great; it gets boring after a while but still is worth watching for any Korn fan like myself.

Overall, this is Korn's best album since "Issues." It really does a good job expanding Korn's sound. Basically I would recommend this album to anyone and everyone who likes heavy, melodic, dark rock.
