Farewell Isn't This Supposed To Be Fun?
Catchy, fun, amusing, and abrasive. These are all words to perfectly describe the Epitaph debut from southerners Farewell. Mixing different tones from All Time Low down to Set Your Goals, Classic Crime, or even New Found Glory, this group of guys have created a clingy yet somewhat technical pop punk release complete with Motion City Soundtrack influenced keyboard parts. The album itself contains heavy hitter after heavy hitter. In fact this debut is so solid that i've found myself quite weary of the band's future albums. The lyrical content is delivered in a way that would have Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy proud, but without the annoying throaty tone that's become quite typical of many Fueled By Ramen artists. Each and every track on this album is bound to have your head bouncing like a bobble-head doll as Marshall Davis successfully delivers infectious choruses layered with pristine harmonies backed by resilient guitar tracks and in your face keyboard leads. Other tracks such as "Sing Baby" exude a sound that fans of Madina Lake or Bayside would take quite fondly to. When it comes down to it, Farewell have basically hit all of the key points of a successful pop-punk album while still remaining quite original in the process
