those solos shouldn't be mistaken for just really cool or improved solos. those solos combine sweep picking, tapping shredding and string- skipping so elegantly that it makes me shit my pants. the reason to why the bass loses it's melodic undertone is due to the excess in melody shared between the guitars: forgivable. vocal work, UGH, must i say anything?
this justification is horribly ill-written but i'd love to discuss with anyone to why and how this album is close to perfection ..
