Parabelle Your Starry Eyes Will Never Make Us Even
Great album. Unlike their previous efforts, which were really hit and miss in terms of me liking some songs, I don't think there's a song on this album that I truly dislike.

If you're familiar with any other Kevin Matisyn (vocalist) projects... including past Parabelle albums... you should know what to expect in terms of sound. Safe but catchy alt rock featuring his unique vocal style. Clever, poetic lyrics. The difference being that the album doesn't have a ton of weak spots or songs that flat out miss, just don't expect them to branch too far outside of their comfort zones.

My favorite tracks at the moment:
In The Shadows
My Surrender
Poets of the Fall Clearview
Front heavy, the first four or five songs are among the most enjoyable the band has written.
Catchy, poetic and genuine alternative rock with atmosphere and light pop influences.
Vocals, guitars, drumming... all top notch. A noticeable improvement over Jealous Gods,
which was a solid but somewhat underwhelming release. The last half however falls into some
of the bands worse habits. Slow and "emotional" songs for the sake of being slow and
"emotional" (see: Moonlight Kissed) or meandering songs that can't quite decide what they
want to be and never hit that catchy/emotional/powerful crescendo the listener is waiting
for (see: Center Stage, The Labyrinth).

Recommended: Drama For Life, The Game, Once Upon a Playground Rainy, Children of the Sun,

Deadlock Manifesto
This album has great, average and horrible moments. The great, in my opinion, going well above and beyond anything on Wolves or any of their past albums. The average songs being below Wolves. And the horrible moments (the rapping on Deathrace *cough*) not deserving to be on anything even remotely metal related. The album seems to be all over the place sometimes, not giving you a good feeling of solidity throughout it like Wolves did.
Compared to Wolves, some Deadlock fans may be a little disappointed. But on it's own, it's an enjoyable album. Many of the songs on it will fade into obscurity, but a couple of the songs (look at the recommended tracks) I know I'll be listening to over and over again for the next few months.
Recommended Tracks: Dying Breed, The Brave / Agony Applause, Altruism (for fans of slower, melodic songs) and Martyr To Science
Deadlock Bizarro World
Owl City Maybe I'm Dreaming
Swimming With Dolphins Ambient Blue
The Bunny The Bear The Way We Rust
Probably one of the best albums the group has put out. Cleans are still the best part
(though they swapped out the "bear" again), harsh vocals are still cringe-worthy most of the
time... but they work sometimes, the energy in songs like 'I Am Free' is commendable, and
the song-writing is actually solid. If nothing else, a band with a somewhat unique brand of
electronic post-hardcore... and an unusually solid effort this time around.

Recommended Songs: Wait And See, I Am Free
The Syncope Threshold End of the Beginning

August Burns Red Messengers
Breaking Benjamin Dear Agony
Do you know how much variety Phobia had? This is pretty much like that, only with the variety taken down a notch. The biggest thing that bugged me about this album is the recycled use of lyrics from the other albums... just little lines like "you take my breath away" that pretty much sound like they ripped it directly from the song Breath on Phobia. Other than that though, it's a relatively solid, catchy album.
Good for Breaking Benjamin fans, probably nothing that'll get you into them if you've already heard their stuff though.
Bullet For My Valentine Fever
Harmless and generic pop-metal with some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard. I don't know who writes the lyrics, but I hope the rest of the band either goes along with it as a joke or just because they enjoy the mediocre level of mainstream success it seems to achieve. Seriously.
However, if you look past the lyrics, it's a decently catchy album with the occasional guitar solo. Might be worth a listen or two if you desperately need to kill an hour or so of your life.
Owl City Ocean Eyes
Volbeat Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies

1.5 very poor
Owl City All Things Bright And Beautiful
I actually kind of enjoyed Maybe I'm Dreaming and Ocean Eyes, they were catchy and fun (though lyrical abominations, especially Ocean Eyes). This however has no redeemable qualities. The only decent song on this is "Honey and the Bee".
