As much as I'd like to go into the technical side of their musicianship and songwriting skills, I just can't. Basically all I really find myself wanting to say is 'Amazing.' Enough said.In Flames Come ClarityI don't care what anyone has to say about In Flames' new albums or their recent releases. A lot of what people have to say about their newer releases is negative because they didn't expect them to change their style at all. Personally I think that if a band doesn't explore their genre or their musical influences their actual productions become boring and repetitive. In Flames has always written great songs and explored their genre in ways where other bands don't. The bottom line is their musicianship is beyond anything I've heard in their genre. Their ability to explore and keep writing music that can relate to more than just one crowd is enough in itself to say they deserve more credit than they get. All I'm trying to say, because I am in a metal band myself, is that In Flames' latest album 'Come Clarity' definitely deserves more credit than its been given because of style change and diversity. I have listened to their last 3 releases for years and I don't intend to change that. I've listened to their entire discography and I think they not only have progressed musically and talent-wise, but they've also grown as a group. Phenomenal band, phenomenal release. Enough said.Scar Symmetry Pitch Black ProgressOkay. The minute I heard this band, they instantly became a favourite of mine. 'Pitch Black Progress' has been playing wherever I go for the last 10 months or so and I have never gotten bored of it. Fantastic use of singing and screaming, well-placed solos that are by far some of the most tasteful and melodic measures of music I've heard to date, the drumming is absolutely superb and the use of subtle keyboards has just overall made me fall in love with this album. I can't stress this band's talent and songwriting skills enough to satisfy my hunger for this album. Truly an amazing release. I would definitely recommend it to ANYONE who likes metal! The End (CAN) ElementaryI've tagged along listening to 'The End' for years now - ever since one of their first appearances at a past Scene Festival in a neighbouring town. Sure, their style has changed dramatically but their musicianship and undeniable song writing skills have proven to be more of a focal point than the progression in style. I wouldn't compare these guys to Dillinger at all personally. They've always had a little more musical flow and feel than DEP in my opinion, and what The End is currently doing is absolutely blowing my mind. I respect this band so much for what they've done to their music. From the singing vocals, to the guitar harmonies and progressions they've came up with for this album, I don't know how someone could NOT enjoy this. What the lyrics alone do for the music is personally one of the strongest parts for me, but hey, like I always say - you can't please everyone. Either way... this band is doing something that may have steered them out of their past genres vaguely, but musically and respectively I just can't deny this band the credit they deserve. Truly an amazing release.Unearth III: In the Eyes of FireTruly Unearth's best release to date. Their first album 'The Oncoming Storm' was a great start for the band as a whole and it really began to redefine metalcore in its entirety, but this album has definitely proven to go over the top in terms of its overall appeal. Not only does every song appeal to me personally, but the flow of the entire disc as a whole is just fantastic. The vocals alone are enough to capture you in the song, but the harmonies and leads and solos are just phenomenal. The drumming - much like the first album - is also one of the key factors to making this disc as great as it is. The band has progressed so much musically it is honestly almost sickening. Definitely worth listening to. 5 out of 5 for sure.4.5 superbAugust Burns Red Thrill SeekerI don't see how these guys shouldn't deserve any less than a 4 out of 5 for their ability to release a debut album of this merit. I've listened to this band for many months now and it honestly gets better every time I do. And as for moratorii, I will call you crazy on your comment saying they remind you of As I Lay Dying. Personally, playing music myself, I can't see any relation to that band what so ever. Regardless, this band has put hardcore on a new stage of progression in terms of future releases. Very impressive release. Can't wait for the next album!Behemoth DemigodUndeniably one of my favourite releases to date. Behemoth has absolutely blown me out of the water with this album. I've listened to maybe their last 5 discs and this is by far my favourite album lately. I'm also a sucker for good productions, but musically and progression-wise I just can't seem to say I don't favour this album. Behemoth has thoroughly redefined who they are as a group and I respect them for that. Great album, great songs, great feel. That's all I got, really. There is no reason you shouldn't listen to this album if you are a fan of Death Metal. m/Dimmu Borgir In Sorte DiaboliDragonForce Inhuman RampageI'm sorry but I completely disagree with the negative reviews left here. I play guitar religiously myself, and I also listen to Dragonforce on a regular basis. I don't understand how someone with ANY musical appreciation could say that Dragonforce has failed to create a good album or that they are 'cheesy' and have failed to do something worth appreciation. I've seen Dragonforce and as 'cheesy' as someone wants to say they are in a negative sense - they are wrong. Dragonforce is definitely pushing boundaries, just not in a 'cheesy' sense or in a comical manner. Their image is unique and they are doing something that no band has been able to do thus far whilst keeping their fanbase. If I see anyone trying to tell me Dragonforce is repetitive and 'cheesy' and musically boring, it just goes to show that person's opinion is surely blinded by lack of musical appreciation. Dragonforce is the ultimate EXTREME power metal band and I'm sorry - I just completely and thoroughly disagree with anyone who tries and tell me otherwise. Enough said.
