At first I didn't know what to make of it. It was the most powerful record I had heard at that time. I first heard about it from my friend Sarah M. and I knew immediately that I had to get it after she put "The Center of the World" on the first mix she ever made for me. The emotion on it is palpable and the flow of it makes it a perfect concept album of a terrrible break up and a heartbroken boy.Broken Social Scene You Forgot It in PeopleAnother amazing band found through Sarah M. I first heard "Anthems for a Seventeen-year-old Girl" while on a drive through haunted Indiana with her and Shaffer and it was the start of my BSS love. There are so many great things to love. The energy on this album is touchable. It's just so in your face. While sometimes inconsistent, sometimes too soft after being so loud, this album is to the brim with creativity and life.Cat Power You Are FreeI heard "Speak for Me" and I knew that I had to own this album at whatever cost.
