Ancestors Of Sound Mind
This is a sleeper, for sure. Very unique; they're like Pink Floyd in the vocal delivery and your everyday run of stoner bands in the deeply overdriven guitars. The keyboards also provide a nice backdrop for the rest of the music in the background. Good drumming as well; don't miss this.

Listened to the MySpace stream. Agree that the album can drone on in parts, especially after the one-two punch of "Oblivion" and "Divinations" that makes "Quintessence" sound like a leftover from Blood mountain with cleaner vocals.
Getting past the middle of the album, I can't emphasize how much "The Last Baron" is in contention for the "White Walls" of 2009. This is an intense metal-prog-who gives a f*ck album that Mastodon should be incredibly proud of creating. Anyone else think that the intro the "The Czar" sounds a bit like Led Zep's "No Quarter"?

Got this on vinyl the other day. First album I've heard from this band; dug the creepy atmosphere the lead-off track puts you in. "Alice" is a great way to end the album, leaves you in a mellow, relaxed mood. Highly recommend if you're looking for something different.

Rx Bandits Mandala
Sepultura A-Lex
Fat could've definitely been trimmed off of this album to make it stronger, but the band makes up for their excesses in the better parts of this album. Though I thought the A-lex I-IV suite was a bit much, the riffs beginning around the 1:00 minute mark of part two kick major ass. "We've Lost You!", "Sadistic Values", "Moloko Mesto", "Ludwig Van", and "Paradox" showcase the energy and passion that has always been a part of Sepultura and are some of the best songs the band has written since Green joined.
