AJJ continue their run of great albums. The lyrics are always top notch as well. "I hate whiny, fucking songs like this but I can't afford a therapist. Sorry guys, here's a solo." |

I rarely judge albums on the first time I listen to it, because normally you miss a lot of things, but there were a few tracks that really stood out to me from the first time I listened to the album. Three of these tracks were 'All I Need', ' Reckoner', and 'Jigsaw Falling Into Place'. With that said, almost every track stood out by itself the second time I listened to the album.
I absolutely agree with McP3000 with regard to the mix between 'Hail to the Thief' and 'Ok Computer'. Each album better incorporates aspects from their previous albums, and this has done so really well in my opinion. I love the way the band build a lot of their songs, there's quite often great depth in their music, lyrically and musically. As a result, picking a favourite track is quite tough.
Of course, it's not going to be for everybody. Some will label it as pretentious, some will want a more straight forward rock album, but this is a great album if this is your sort of thing. |
