Iron Maiden's self-titled debut was awesome for a debut album, with such awesome tracks as "Prowler", "Sanctuary", "Running Free", "Phantom of the Opera", "Charlotte the Harlot", and the title track. "Phantom of the Opera" is my favorite Paul Di'Anno era Maiden song, with wicked guitar harmonies, bass lines, vocals, and who could miss that amazing drum beat especially in the middle of the song with the guitar solos. I would love to see them play this one live today.

The more I listen to this album, the more it seems to grow on me. There is one hell of a musical diversity in this record, going from sludge, to thrash, to stoner, to even a bit of an alternative sound. Best songs IMO are "Damned for All Time", "Vote With a Bullet" (which guitarist Pepper Keenan sang on), "White Noise", and "Echoes in the Well". For me, its hard to say which one is better, between this one or Deliverance.

Definately the best SLAYER has put out in years!! This album marks the return of original drummer Dave Lombardo, the "Godfather of double-bass drumming". This album could very well be the follow-up to 1990's Seasons in the Abyss, as it showcases the classic dark-thrash sound SLAYER had before 1994's Divine Intervention. Only problem is that the lyrical themes have changed drastically, as this is the first album SLAYER has put out since 9/11. The anti-religious lyrics deal mainly with real-world stuff and how religion destroys the world, rather than the satanism in their older songs. But nonetheless, SLAYER IS BACK!!!

This is the first Maiden album i bought. Trust me, this will get you right into Maiden if you aren't already. These are some of the best songs in metal. I love every song on this album. But the downside to this album is that there are no Paul Di'anno era songs on it. How could they release a greatest hits album with Blaze Bayley era songs on it, but no Di'anno era songs? Another thing I have to complain about is that there are no songs off Fear of the Dark, but they have a live version of the title track.

Slayer Divine Intervention
This album isnt sh*t; but after being used to the sound SLAYER had with their previous albums, this album is way different. Yes, every SLAYER album has a different sound, but Divine Intervention has so much difference compared to the sound of its predecessor, Seasons in the Abyss. Also, SLAYER for the first time addresses politics directly with this album, in songs such as "Dittohead". And vocalist Tom Araya explores different styles of singing, as he screams his throat out in the title track, and lowers his voice with "Serenity in Murder". This is also the first album to feature drummer Paul Bostaph; to me he was good enough to replace Dave Lombardo, but matches nowhere close to Dave. If you are looking a follow up to Seasons, may i suggest Christ Illusion?
